Leonardo DiCaprio

120 cm x 120 cm / 48 inches x 48 inches, mixed media on stretched canvas, 2019.

Academy Award-nominated actor and environmental activist Leonardo DiCaprio has been designated by the U.N. Secretary-General as a U.N. Messenger of Peace, focusing on climate change. I painted DiCaprio's portrait on a 120cm x 120 cm stretched canvas.

DiCaprio explained that he has a moral obligation to speak about the climate crisis and educate others about our global response to the problem. He explained that our response would ultimately determine the fate of both the planet and humanity. DiCaprio is an advocator for Sustainable Development Goal 13: Climate Change.

DiCaprio founded the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation in 1998, with a motto geared towards protecting our planet's remaining wild places and employing solutions to build harmony between the natural world and humanity. DiCaprio has used his voice and influence to bring attention necessary for funding three projects: Protection Ocean and forest conservation, biodiversity, and climate change. As a public figure, DiCaprio uses his influence to increase general understanding about how the United Nations assists in improving the lives of people globally.
